Open Enrollment Season Is Here- Penalty 2016 is $695 or 2.5% of Income

Now is the time to make changes or enroll in a new health plan either on or off the Exchange.  The penalty for not having health insurance in 2016 has increased to a tax penalty of $695 per adult, $347.50 per child or 2.5% of income (whichever is greater).  It’s important to note that the plans have changed this year.  See below for a summary of plans.  The income guidelines have also changed; if your income has increased or decreased, please verify that you still qualify for Covered California.  If you have questions, need to enroll in a plan with Covered CA or directly with a carrier, please contact Kelley@clarkirish.com.
